Anyone can fall in love at first sight with beautiful nig ht scenery of Hong Kong.

By the side of the desk, there are two postcards. One is a photo postcard of actual night scenery of  Victoria Harbour

thaken in 1997, and another one is a hand-sketched image postcard of 1967’s scenery with the same frame. Keeping

these two postcards has only simple reason – for their flawless nature. The framing of the scenery, the choice of

shutter and the timing of the photo taken, as well as the impeccable color and paint combination of the sketch, are just

perfect.

I was only touched by these two images but have not fallen in love with them yet.

One can always connect Hong Kong night scenery with the shimmering lights along the waterfronts of Vicotria Harbor.

Beyond physical beauty, our night scenery also reflects the inner charm of the city of Hong Kong, However,  all images

of our harbour have similar angles and outlooks, which lack of personal attachment with the place.Still remeber the

spectacular scene of planes landing on the airport? Have you ever leaned over your bedroom window and took a look at

the busy Nathan Road after dark? Have you ever sstood at The Convention and Exhibition Centre in the middle of the

night to embrace the glamour of our city by yourself?

We all know it is gorgeous, nut we may not realize our passion for its charm.

what if the sun disappeared all of a sudden? Then we may treasure the gilittering fireflies more than before. If Hao Yi

from the chinese legend really shot down all the ten suns, how would our world be like? The prequel of the story is full

of chinese mythology, whereas the sequel has a totally different approach. We tell the story with montage of pictures

and surreal images. Besides, the mystical characters demonstrate the modern cosmopolitan nature of Hong Kong,

presenting Hong Kong’s cultural uniqueness in the world.

People from around the world love Hong Kong for her glamour and the vibrant nightlife. Yet, have we ever really

enjoyed the inner beauty of the places we pass by every day in Hong Kong?

Prequel

This is an ancient Chinese legend about a family. The god and goddess of the sky had ten sons. Every day, one son

would travel by a gold cart, rise from the east and sail across the sky to the west, to shine on the earth, We called them

“suns”. After 200 years of the same routine, they were tired of taking turns and so, they decided to rise to the sky

altogether at one time. However, the presence of ten suns at once was disatrous for earth – plants wilted, animals died.

That was the start of the catastrophic age…

God of sky was very angry about the deed of his sons. He appointed the gurad of archery Hou Yi to punish the naguhty

sons. He granted Hou Yi a magic red bow and 10 powerful white arrows. Hou Yi took his hunting dog Black Ear with him

and hiked up Mount NuXue, the highest mountain on earth, to shoot each sun down one by one. The goddess of sky

heard the roaring pain from the dying sons and begged her husband to forgive them. However, it was too late. There

was only one son left behind in the sky, who became the only sun in the universe.

The pain of goddess infuriated the god of sky. He sent a lightning to end Houe Yi’s life.

That was the beginning of a series of revenge.

Sequel

Nine Sun,the son of Hou Yi, heard the tragedy of his father from the loyal dog Black Ear, He was extremely furious at

god of sky’s decision to kill his father, despite his fathers’s obedience to god of sky’s instruction to shoot down the suns.

He decoded to shoot the last sun as a revenge for his father. He changed his name to Nine Sun in memory of his father’s

deed to save the earrth by shooting down nine suns.

Nine Sun took the last bow and arrow his father left behind. He practiced archery every day, awwaited for the best

moment to take revenge. The time has come. When Nine Sun was about to shoot from the top of Mount NuXue,god of

moon stealthily covered up the whole sun. The earth was in the dark. As god of moon only had 6 hours’ time to cover up

the sun, he sent his daughter, Second Day,to earth to stop the revenge from happening. At the same time, the sun sent

Fire Spirit to protect Second Day to earth.

Even with the guide from Magic Eagle to search for Nine Sun., Secound Day and Fire Spirit faced a lot of obstacles.

Without sunshine, the earth turned into complete darkness. People had different feelings and experience in the dark.

What would the world look life after these 6 hours?
